I love food, especially sweets, and I will often crave something specific to satisfy my need for sugar. My most common craving is something very delicious and very Korean called "patbingsu". (In Korean it's 팥빙수) I've had it at a few different places, but the way they make it at Super H Mart is my favorite. It starts out looking something like this...
It's got shaved ice, dduk (small gummy rice cakes that are delicious), red bean paste (sounds gross to us Americans, I know, but it's sooo good), some fruit (usually fruit cocktail, like pineapple, grapes, peaches, strawberries, and sometimes kiwi), and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The key to eating this dessert is to mix it all up first, so it ends up looking like this nasty grey sludge...more like this:
...I know it doesn't look that appetizing, but it is so delicious and cold. It makes your whole body cold, so it's great to get in the summer when it's hot out. I haven't had patbingsu in a few months, and I'm definitely experiencing withdrawals.
